The day you are born, God places you first in the arms of your father and mother because they’re appointed to hold, carry and nurture the most precious blessing that God has given them. The first testimony of children with godly parents is witnessing the goodness of God through the lives of their parents. Watching their parents show them how to live godly lives even when the situations are not ideal. And as we grow, we realize that all the cutting and pruning that goes into producing a good fruit out of us is not so easy to swallow.

New International Version Proverbs 22:6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Even when they may not feel it or see it, godly parents hold on to a grace that is sufficient and a peace that surpasses all understanding. This grace and peace are what help parents build a godly home for their family one day at a time. Every life-giving seed, every encouraging word, every intentional action, every corrective moment-all go into building a godly home until they see Heaven on Earth and taste the fruits of the labor that bring life and joy wherever they go. That is how godly parents can raise up children of the Kingdom.

Now, if you think this is NOT what your family looks like, I want to tell you in the deepest love, “take courage!” God is not done with you yet. Always remember that you’re not positioned on a stage first, but in the arms of your parents, to bring heaven down in their life, in your life, and wherever God’s purpose is for you to grow. That is not a very simple process, but as we are taught time and again, our ministry begins first when we are in service to our parents, our siblings, and our community.

Matthew 19:19 ESV Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

As we seek the face of God in the little things, when we are faithful in the place God first positioned us, He will take us to higher levels of encounter and engagement for all that He has in store for us. Remind yourself constantly of where your roots are because when the root is taken care of, the tree bears good fruit by itself.

God is on the move to heal the land with godly parents that know the worth of a family rooted in Jesus, and with children of the Kingdom who are faithful to what is given.
